Volunteers

Volunteers make an invaluable contribution to Calvary Health Care Adelaide.

The organisation has a long and rich history of Volunteer Services, and there are interesting and diverse roles available to Volunteers across the four hospital sites.

Some volunteers prefer to use existing skills, others gain new skills in worthwhile endeavours, whatever the reason they are a vital component in providing excellence in patient care.

Calvary North Adelaide Hospital

In 2007, 250 volunteers contributed over 38000 hours in support of the patients, families, visitors and staff.
Roles volunteers perform include :
• Courtesy Car
• Mail Run
• Hospital Wards – Administration and Patient support
• Medical Records
• Finance – assistance with projects
• Payroll – administrative assistance as required
• Reception – Escorting patients, directing visitors,
• Kiosk
• Craft – gifts for sale, special items for patients
• Maintenance – tradesperson support
• Administration – computer, admin support
• Risk Quality and Safety- high level computer support
• Theatre – data entry
• Case Management – data entry
• Pastoral Care- Eucharistic Ministry
• Bereavement Care Counsellors – assist Family and
Patient Counselling team
• Palliative Care – patient & family support
• Community Outreach – enriching lives
• Music –playing in the Mary Potter Hospice
• Biography Service – supporting Palliative Patients
• Fra angelico Art program – supporting Palliative

Calvary Wakefield Hospital

Calvary Wakefield Hospital has a new volunteer program and we are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist in various areas of the hospital including ward support, patient services, administrative support, supply and Heritage research.
Flexible days and hours are available with a minimum of 4 hours per week.The hospital is centrally located in the city of Adelaide.
With 180 beds and a busy surgical and medical case load the hospital provides an interesting and diverse environment for volunteers.

Calvary Central Districts Hospital & Calvary College Grove Rehabilitation Hospital

Calvary Central Districts Hospital are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist in various areas of the hospital including ward support, patient services and administrative support, maintenance and heritage research.

Flexible days and hours are available with a minimum of 4 hrs per week.

The hospital is located north of the city at Elizabeth Vale with 76 beds, providing acute medical, surgical and Cancer care.

Calvary College Grove Rehabilitation Hospital are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist in various areas of the hospital including ward support, Allied Health Support, patient services and administrative support, maintenance and heritage research.

Flexible days and hours are available with a minimum of 4 hrs per week.

The hospital is located at Walkerville with 65 beds, providing in patient and day patient rehabilitation services.
